Rebranding by Refocusing

Before beginning the rebrand, the CEO presented me with two must haves: the logotype needed to stay the same, and “no spiders!” This was unique in that it’s already in the company name, but the challenge pushed me to find other ways to convey our data crawling prowess in the e-commerce field.

By removing the outdated icon, the simplicity of the wordmark was the perfect springboard for diving into the rest of the rebrand items. I created a custom data crawling pattern that hints to spiders (think “webs”!) while also reinforcing the digital nature of our products. This pattern further helped distinguish products through color coding.

Brand Guidelines

After establishing the new visual language, we expanded on the new elements further through a thorough brand guidelines build out. This served as the brand bible for every team, and allowed third party partners to easily implement changes with turn-key ease.

Once all branding elements and motifs were defined and refined, the fun really started with applying to all of our touchpoints. Starting with the website, we implemented product specific styling and updated branding to each element of our digital presence.

Custom graphics for each product and functionality infographics were also created to ensure a consistent and engaging visual thread.They were then carried into our print collateral and marketing materials.

Social, Print & beyond

Social media underwent a complete overhaul. We also deployed a tiered company update for in-house assets including client portals, email signatures, pitch deck, and digital sales pieces. It was important to ensure every department and team member could easily and swiftly display the new brand throughout our platforms.

Case studies, brochures, print ads and tradeshow collateral were next up for rebranding. Implementing new messaging and design motifs, we made sure every touchpoint was undoubtedly ours. It was imperative to ensure every leave behind and forward-facing component met our new standards.
